The goal with this project was to use illustrator to create a vectored photo realistic rendering of a watch. Many people would say that this is way too much but is honestly a lot of fun to do. This is beneficial because you had to think about light in a completely different way especially when making shapes, because nothing is truly black or truly whiter gray.
Had to start off early with just figuring out the shapes as well as learning how many more shapes there were to a watch than you would think. I then started to ad highlights that I could find in the main casing circle of the watch.
Upon finishing the highlights I began adding things to really make it like a watch like the hashes of the original.
Then moving on we began to build more of the watch with the knob on the side and adding what I have been calling the stubs. at thins point I also had created a couple patterns to help make the watch.
This is just a screen shot of what my watch looked like when you would press CMD+Y to see all the links of the shapes that I had. As chaotic as it looks it seems almost not to me.
Then we have the where I added the bands and did so lighting on the stubs, as well ass adding texture to the watch besides the bands.
Then here is the final result including the texture of the band
